Curtis E. Holloman

Southern Rural Access Program/Rural Health Policy Center

As deputy director for the Rural Health Policy Center Holloman
helps
direct the efforts of the Southern Rural Access Program grant program
and manages the 21st Century Challenge Fund matching grants
program. Before accepting this appointment Holloman was the health
director for Scotland County in Laurinburg, NC for nearly three years.
In
that position he oversaw the establishment of the Local Healthy
Carolinians initiative, restructured the county department of health,
privatized the home health division and developed a public health
dental clinic. Prior to this position he served as the health director
in
North Carolina's Sampson County where he was successful in
introducing an immunization outreach project and overseeing the reestablishment
of the county's health education program. Holloman
graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina with a
BA in
Public Administration and from Appalachian State University with
an
MA in Political Science and Public Administration. He completed a
sixmonth
legislative assistant internship with the US House of
Representatives and was a graduate teaching/research assistant for
two years. He has served as a local board member of the American
Red Cross and was the founding director of the Sampson County
Domestic Violence board among other professional interests.
